Space Launch Service

CLA

Alcântara Launch Center (CLA)

Greater operational capacity with the widest variety of launch options

The CLA is a strategic facility located in Maranhão, being one of the most important launch centers for space vehicles in Brazil. With a privileged location, near the equator, the CLA offers significant advantages for launching space vehicles, reducing costs and increasing operational efficiency. The center is responsible for providing support infrastructure for space missions, including launch monitoring and control.

Benefits
  • Orbital plane from 2° to 110° (99% of commercial orbits!);
  • Direct access to orbits of greatest commercial interest;
  • Greater payload capacity;
  • Climate stability;
  • Track record of success in international missions.
Applications
  • Launch of small to large launch vehicles;
  • Training center for space technology specialists;
  • Training center for space technology specialists;
  • Commercial satellite launches for national and foreign companies.

Barreira do Inferno Launch Center (CLBI)

Founded in 1965, it was the first rocket launch center in South America.

The CLBI is a Brazilian Air Force base located in the state of Rio Grande do Norte. Its strategic location near the Equator provides ideal conditions for suborbital and orbital launches, optimizing fuel consumption and allowing greater efficiency in missions. In addition to supporting the launch of scientific and experimental rockets, the CLBI also assists in satellite tracking and space monitoring activities, collaborating with national and international agencies.

Benefits
  • Orbital plane from 6° to 49° (60% of commercial orbits!);
  • Reduction in operation costs;
  • Consolidated infrastructure for tracking and telemetry;
  • Climate stability.
Applications
  • Launch of small launch vehicles;
  • Training center for space technology specialists;
  • Tracking and telemetry of space vehicles;
  • Satellite launches for the development of new technologies.

TRACKING AND TELEMETRY

Strategic infrastructure developed to monitor and collect real-time data during launches and satellite operations.

This service consists of a network of tracking stations that allow continuous monitoring of launch vehicles and satellites. Telemetry, through the transmission of data such as speed, altitude, temperature, and pressure, is essential for the control and safety of space missions. The service also enables the detection and correction of failures during flight, ensuring the precision of space operations.

Benefits
  • Real-time monitoring of the position and condition of space bodies;
  • Prevention of collisions between satellites and debris;
  • Increased equipment lifespan through early diagnosis;
  • Optimization of fuel consumption;
  • Ability to make quick corrections in case of technical failures.
Applications
  • Launch and operation of satellites;
  • Orbital maneuvers;
  • Monitoring of objects in orbit;
  • Space Domain Awareness;
  • Data downlink for meteorology and environmental monitoring.
